Vignetting comes from the lens's own light falloff, from shooting wide open, or from a hood or filter intruding into the frame. It is most obvious against an even sky, which is most aviation photographs, and mild cases correct cleanly — although a little is often left in deliberately to hold the eye on the aircraft.
