long exposure
An exposure long enough for movement to record as a trail or a smear.
On a tripod at night, a long exposure turns taxiing aircraft into ribbons of navigation light and holds enough ambient light to keep the sky from going black. It is the standard technique for a night apron, and TailzIN's "Night Owl" badge criteria are built around the taken-at times such frames carry.
