Ferry flights deliver new aircraft, move airframes to maintenance or storage, or recover an aircraft that ended up out of position. They are often the only chance to see a particular airframe at a particular airport, and a delivery flight in a fresh livery is a well-known reason for a crowd to gather at a fence.
